Yes, there is loads of research on the relationship of hypnosis with health issues. From IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), hot flushes, bladder, various skin conditions such as warts, as well as migraines and hypertension and chronic pain, the list goes on. And QH Sutherland Shire Hypnotherapy can help!
Before you contact a hypnotherapist for medical hypnosis of any kind, it is advisable that you check with your medical practitioner first in case your symptoms are indicative of something that should be explored medically. Of course, Quantum Hypnotherapy can work with your GP or specialist and may, in some circumstances, request that you provide a referral from your practitioner.
As well as various conditions like those listed above, research for pre-operative and post-operative hypnotherapy demonstrates rather remarkable outcomes for patients. The amount of recovery time may be diminished significantly as can the duration and level of necessary pain amelioration.
Does Anxiety Play A Part in Illness and Pain?
The connections between anxiety and severity of symptoms and suffering continue to play out in the literature. Respiratory conditions, gastrointestinal, immunological, heart disease – increased and prolonged anxiety generally amplify the suffering and may play a part in exacerbation.
Hypnotherapy can be used as a precision tool in alleviating degrees of suffering where there may be a cognitive element since the protocol bypasses the conscious critical factor and appeals to the unconscious parts of the brain. The sub-cortical areas that keep and direct mind-body relationships and processes.
Even just addressing the anxiety portion when someone is suffering with illness or pain can have tremendous experiential effects and inculcate changes that extend into other areas.
Difficulty falling pregnant can be an extremely stressful period for women (and men, as well). Whether it’s natural conception or IVF, the toll can be psychologically exhausting. And if you’re in a highly stressed frame, then the flow through to your bodily processes may be affected.
Strategic Hypnotherapy can assist you through the stages. We’ll work to calm your thought and emotional processes down, help attune your self-care. Just the lowering of stress levels can have great benefits in the way your body responds.
A Study On IVF & Hypnosis
A study published in 2006 that looked into IVF and Embryo Transfer success rates with Hypnosis concludes as follows:
“A significantly higher pregnancy rate (P_ .05) was observed in the hypnosis group compared with the regular ET cycles (Table 3 ). In the hypnosis group, 52 clinical pregnancies were conceived with a clinical pregnancy rate (PR) per patient of 58.4% (52/89) and per cycle of 53% (52/98), compared with 29 clinical pregnancies in the regular ET group and a clinical PR of 30.2% (29/96) per patient and per cycle.”
